It's like a perfect Sushi dinner with one bad piece of eel. Korg PS-3200 - I play mine in the dark and make believe I'm in Kraftwerk but a Jewish New York version. Roland 100m - how else could I make a kick drum that sounds like the thousands of other samples I have? Oberheim SEMS - because I need something that sounds like a duck on acidīuchla 200!- don't own one (only had a digital hybrid Buchla and that does not count!) they sound like a good mallet orchestra on Saturn.Īrp Omni 2 through Roland Tape Delay and Mutron Phase Shift - does that count as a synth? Roland System 700 - What Rolands should still sound like. Korg PS-3100 (I suppose also the 3300 - although I don't own one) - resonator! Korg MS20 - beautiful and flexible for size, pitch follower.Įlka Synthex - um, pads and general size makes you think it sounds big - KORUS. Moog Modular - sounds like MOOG.no filter like it except for copies. Minimoog - great bass/great leads/classic sound I really want something Waldorf somewhere in there and not a Blowfeld, maybe a banana yellow Q.ĮMS Synthi/Putney - without this there is no music anywhere of any typeĪrp 2600 - flexible - awesome low end - boinky spring - fuzzy preamp. Yamaha - EX-5r (my vote for most under rated synth) Korg 01W- FD (I programmed the shit out of this one) Roland - JX-3P w/prog (only on MIDI Ch-1 sucks in my perfect world) Kurzweil - K2000s (best $200 I ever spent) Propellerheads - Rebirth (if there is such a thing as Virtual Vintage this is it)Īrtura - Arp 2600V (rhythm sounds that sync to MIDI beat clock are way cool)ĬakeWalk - Rapture (anyone tried this, it sounds awesome) Roland - Alpha Juno-1 (my machine for low end sub bass sounds) Roland - JD-800 (great front pannel editing that includes the ability to edit drum sounds) Roland - Juno-106 (think lush creamy vanilla ice cream) Korg - Triton (my main sequencing machine) Oberheim - Matrix 1000 (somehow makes it to every song)Įnsoniq - ASR-10r (rack version has 8 outs) Sequential Circuits - Prophet-600 (if that touch pannel ever goes bad I'm going to be pissed off) Moog - Voyager RME (get one just for the back-lit pannel of course - forget that it's a Moog)Ĭlavia - Nordlead2 (the workhorse of the bunch - my baby) These are my fav top 20 synths for production and ownership. I can honestly think of a few I would like to throw in this list, but then again, if I really wanted something not on this list, I would probably own it by now.
